Is God Doing His Job?

Is God Doing His Job?

No religion is perfect. It won’t be wrong to say that the imperfect religions have done more harm than good to humanity. Man is killing man for sheer religious supremacy

By Mukesh Sharma

Anything which is beyond the comprehension of human mind, is considered as the work of God; an act of God. Where logic ends, God emerges. That is why the faithful of different faiths believe: God is omnipotent. God is omniscient. God is omnipresent. But the moron mind of this blogger doubts the veracity of such lofty statements, particularly, when one looks around and sees the mindless killings, massacres and the atrocities  committed by man on man across the world. No need to go beyond India. What eye doesn’t see, heart doesn’t grieve. Look at the recent brutal butchering of a happy family of three – Bondhu Gopal 35, his 8 month pregnant wife 30 and their 8 year old minor son, in Murshidabad, a muslim majority locality in West Bengal. The pics of hacked dead bodies which are doing rounds on social media, send chill down the spine, and are more macabre than the scene of Hollywood horror movie. It is not difficult to understand that the split of second before death each hapless victim must have thought of God; must have made last ditch effort; must have hoped for a miracle; must have squirmed like an unfortunate animal slaughtered by the butcher. But nobody turned up, no help arrived from any quarter. A pertinent question arises in the mind of poor common man: Is God doing his job?

Hapless Victim of Religion

The severed head with open lifeless eyes just hinging on torso, lying on the ground with blood splattered all over, and deep cuts on the body of the deceased are the tell-tale sign of ghastly battle for life more repulsive than the hunt by animals which kill their prey for food. The two legged animal so-called man is the most ferocious, for, he can kill another man just for his ego, jealousy, greed, libido or religion. Animals can be trusted but not a man. After axing the man of the family, the killer must have turned to the woman. Though she was 8 months pregnant and was in the bed, the killers opened her neck with no mercy  before she could move, and left her lying in the pool of blood on the bed itself. After that, the killers  must have turned to the innocent 8 year old child who had witnessed the killing of its parent with stupor, and the poor child was also done to death by slitting the throat. The cime scene shows that the killers  have  put to shame even the most heartless and horrific Mongol emperor Changez Khan.

What aches the heart of this blogger is  the selective attitude and response of so-called ‘intellectuals’ who raise hell at the drop of the hat; return awards; hold candal march; and write letters to PM only for a particular community. It is these self-styled custodians   of society who sow the seed of schism for their selfish ends.

It is said that the deceased Bondhu Gopal was an active member of RSS. It is alleged that he was an eyesore to a particular  community, which is in majority in Murshidabad. However, the local police denies any political or religious angle behind the gruesome killings. Whatever, may be the reason, the three innocent lives have been put to death in a country that has government, police, and judiciary by the fearless killers who are still at large. Barring the non entity, no ‘big’ netas has come forward to make strong statement. As always, netas are overbusy in their ‘political game'. To netas, people are just a scrap or trash after the date of election. A twitteriti rightly says:
“Congress makes government on the dead bodies of its leader, and BJP on the dead bodies of its workers.”

M.K. Gandhi says: “No religion is perfect.” It won’t be wrong to say that the imperfect religions have done more harm than good to humanity. Man is killing man for sheer religious supremacy. Self-styled religious leaders are misguiding the poor populace. The weak are easy target of their religious leaders. Hope is the staple diet of the weak. And the God is the best source of hope as propounded by fables, parables and mythological stories. Surprisingly enough, the brainwashed people want to die in the service of their God. All the religion believe God is the creator of this universe; God is the father of this world; all are equal in the sight of God; God takes care of his children. If it is so, is God doing his job?

Self-employed youth – the victims of Justice

Self-employed youth – the victims of Justice
By Mukesh Sharma

It is a fact that only elite political class has been enjoying life in Indian democracy, loaded heavily in favour of netas. Irrespective of caste creed or religion, the most of Indians believe that India is country of the netas, by the netas and for the netas.

While the netas live a king’s life, the poor people wriggle through the devouring problems all the life. Resigned to fate, the people remain at the mercy of some divine providence or the netas.

With all prerogatives and privileges, the netas celebrate Independence day and Republic day with the usual euphoria and exactitude every year. And the fooled people watch all the celebrations on TV channels with the sense of helplessness.

The system is such that once a glib-tongue and street-smart person gets in the politics, and manages to become an MLA or MP, he or she becomes law unto himself or herself. The proverbial long hands of law think ten times before reaching out to these netas even if they are found complicit in some crime. The people contend that these demi-gods are above the law.

On the other hand, the hapless common man who has been struggling from dawn to dusk for his survival for the ages, is a favourite whipping boy. Even the lowest rung government official can kick his ass just for kicks. What is more, this confused common man often falls prey to so-called JUSTICE.

The classic example is the ongoing sealing drive by MCD in Delhi under so-called Supreme Court Monitoring Committee. The properties of innocent self-employed people who have even paid the conversion charges and parking charges against their properties in order to carry out commercial activities for their livelihood, are being targeted and sealed arbitrarily without any notice.

True to their element, the netas of all the political parties are trying to use the predicament of the businessmen to their political advantage. Mud-slinging, slanging match and buck-passing have become the part of debate. While the netas are busy in their squabble, sealing is going on day after day. If the government cannot provide the employment, it has no business to deprive the people of self-employment.

Over the years, the coaching Institute Business across India has become a giant industry with annual turn-over in thousands of crores, providing direct and indirect employment to thousands of teaching and non-teaching  youths.

Among the famous places for the coaching centres, Mukherji Nagar in north- west Delhi has a distinctive reputation. It is the favourite destination for government job-seekers. The students from all the parts of India throng this place with their cherished dream.

But to the utter surprise of student community at large, the renowned Mukherji Nagar and GTB Nagar stand rather ravaged today in the wake of rampant sealing drive. Hoardings, signboards and bill boards have been pulled down. Furniture and fixtures have been removed from the premises to ward off sealing drive. Obviously, it has put a big question mark not only on the future of self-employed teachers but also on the dreams of hundreds of students.

Dejected and disenchanted these hordes of self-employed people contend that much touted ‘start-up’ India is just a political gimmick. “At Davos, our Hon’ble PM Modi lays a red carpet for the foreign companies and business tycoons” says  a teacher ruefully. “And here in India Modi’s men are pulling the rug of  the feet of thousand of self-employed youth”. “BJP is a party of talk talks and talk claims. And those who talk by yard, act by inches, deserve to be kicked  by foot” says a student spitefully.

Evidently enough, the self-employed youth of India, who are already overburdened with the propounded GST, Income Tax, Property Tax, Conversion charges, Parking charges and  ever running high commercial electricity bill besides the alleged monthly extortion by the local authorities, are  VICTIM OF ‘JUSTICE’

The Forbidden Fruit

(Humour)

The Forbidden Fruit

Nothing attracts like sex and all Adam’s sons are the natural victims of enticing Eves

By Mukesh Sharma

T
he Paradise was lost the day Adam and Eve descended in Eden Garden. The story was very well couched in immortal words (blank verse) by a celebrated 17th century English poet John Milton through his epic poem Paradise Lost’ and its first version was said to be brought out way back in 1667.

Forbidden Fruit

The poet’s observations are the deep reflections of man’s psyche:
“What hath right to do with sleep?” “Better to reign in hell, than to serve in heaven.” “Solitude sometimes the best society.” “Long is the way and hard, that out of the hell leads up to light.” “ Awake, arise or be for ever fall in.”
-John Milton, Paradise Lost

But to the utter surprise of common man, the ‘paradise’ appears to have been lost once again very recently since the day of John Milton after such a long time when a ‘promising’ actress leveled wild allegations of sexual harassment against the member of her own fraternity that too not in any Court of Law but on a TV channel where the popularity is grown.

Shuttling between USP (Unique Selling Point) and TRP (Television Rating Point), the ever hungry TV channels started vying for the most coveted opportunity to pass themselves off as a custodian of moral values, and of course, the oppressed women folk.

As usual, the ‘sexy’ news, made even years old entombed ghost, #ME TOO, to wake up from slumber,  take twists and turns in grave, and come out with a grunt - #metoo, #metoo. . .

The sussy story doesn’t end here. Some self styled puritans - judges, actors, ministers, journos  and so on, also jumped on the bandwagon, perhaps, just to ingratiate themselves. The great proponent of TRUTH, Acharya Rajneesh, popularly known as Osho in one of his discourses quips:
“If you are doing something wrong against the established practice or law, do visit a religious place of your choice regularly. If you are exposed at any point of time, there would be at least sizable number of ignorant fools who would willingly vouchsafe for you, and stand witness for you for being a gentleman.”
Always in full swing, ever ready Rahul Gandhi tweets:
“It is about time everyone learns to treat women with respect and dignity. I am glad the space for those who don’t, is closing. The truth needs to be told to bring about change.”
Replying to Rahul Gandhi’s moral sermon, @Ra-Bries, a twitterite sarcastically tweets:
“Yes sir, I completely agree with you. History is a witness of your claims and commitment of treating world women with dignity. That is why you never let the women reservation bill get through and created all possible hurdles in the Triple Talaque bill. Also do you know who was Sukanya?”
Needless to say, the sex-war is eternal. It is beyond the intervention of Oracles of Law and United Nations. It is purely regulated by the Law of Nature. It is well said:
“Opportunity gives rise to thoughts; thoughts give rise to desires, and desires give rise to action.”
It takes two to make a ‘marriage’. No moral standard of any religion can restrain this (sex war). It is not just libido but the lust also. In Lady Holland Memoir, by Sydney Smith writes:
“How can a bishop marry? How can I flirt? The most he can say is, ‘I will see you in the vestry after service’.”
Says a devout Muslim with a sheepish grin, “Frankly speaking, all the Hindu want to be Muslim in youth, and all the Muslim, want to be Hindu in old age.”

The lure of Forbidden Fruit is pristine and proverbial. Men would be men, women would be women. Ram and Sita live in the Ramcharita manas of Tulsi Das only. But Ravana  is out. Though his effigy is burnt every year on the eve of Dussehra, he is immortal, imperishable, immutable and indestructible. He is everywhere -  in small villages, big cities, high public offices and allegedly, in the Parliament too.
