Is Sunday Really a Holiday?

Is Sunday Really a Holiday?

There is no Sunday for an anxious young girl preoccupied with possibilities and their possible results going on her first date; no Sunday for curious young man rife with speculations for an opportunity to encroach on the forbidden 'territory' of a young girlfriend

By Mukesh Sharma

To a common man, Sunday is the most awaited day after a week-long tussle of life, particularly, in the context of India; it is like an oasis in the endless desert of drudgery; it is rejoiced as an OFF DAY in the most parts of the world. With relentless rolling of the wheel of the TIME, Sunday falls after seven days on the human almanac. The working class, euphemistically, marks Sunday as the King of days. But a few pertinent questions do trickle the mind of this blogger. Is Sunday the same for all the people? Is it really a holiday?

Scratching scrutiny reveals that there is no Sunday for a wishful wife;  no Sunday for a harnessed husband; no Sunday for pitiable parents struggling to give their kids the best.

There is no Sunday for the minion milkman; no Sunday for the vegetable vendor; no Sunday for the nursing newspaper vendor; no Sunday for diligent daily wage earners.

There is no Sunday for the always functional farmers; no sunday for lower rung officials and constables in police scouting streets day and night with nobody to pat their back for good work; no Sunday for sentinel-soldiers guarding the border under extreme weather conditions on treacherous terrain and territory.

There is no Sunday for an anxious young girl preoccupied with possibilities and their possible results, going on her first date; no Sunday for curious young man rife with speculations for an opportunity to encroach on the forbidden 'territory' of a young girlfriend.

There is no Sunday for a streetwalker waiting for a right customer who would pay the full price of her modesty and dignity; no Sunday for rag pickers out with a sack on the shoulder to pick plastic stuff from the heap of garbage; no Sunday for the street beggars set on a begging spree at assigned red lights of the city.

There is no Sunday for the prying Pride, garrulous Greed, wretched Wrath, enticing Envy, lumpet Lust, gobbling Glutton, and slacking Sloth. Not to speak of Sunday, all work overtime for  their self preservation.

There is no Sunday of deathless Hope; no Sunday for devil desires. Even God is surprised at their modus operandi and modus Vivendi.

There is no Sunday for the beating heart; no Sunday for thinking Mind; no Sunday for puffing Breath; No Sunday for the libertine Liver; No Sunday for the kind kidneys; No Sunday for ever-flowing blood in artery and veins; no respite even for a split of a second.

There is no Sunday for respected Rahul Gandhi, perhaps, busy in working out 'positive' strategies for the propulsion of INS; it is not his fault that each time 'positivity' results in negativity; he believes in 'action' not in its fruit. If the people don't understand Rahul Gandhi, it is their fault, he can't help.

There is no Sunday for our venerable and Hon'ble Prime Minister Modi Ji. Like a supercomputer, the insiders reveal that Modi remains on all the time. Modi's opponents allege that he remains busy in collecting data and fudging it; he remains busy in juxtaposing facts with fiction and serve it to people with unparallel oratorical skill. No Sunday even for the ever-growing grey beard of Modi. Over the months, he has become more enigmatic than charismatic. The common people opine with a pinch of salt that they never expected that their charismatic leader will turn into a calm and quiet BABA a unique effect of power on Modi never seen in the annals of India.

There is no Sunday even for God. He is not happy with the man on earth who has betrayed his trust. God is worried about the existence of man on earth, for the man has sowed the seed of self-destruction. So God is busy planning a new life on some other planet far away in another galaxy. God has no hope for the man on the earth.

To conclude, there is no Sunday for all and sundry including God except for so-called government servants; it is blessed 'breed' among human beings. The commoners allege that govt. servants in India are simply a chair warmer and clock watcher, particularly, the black sheeps; they work for the public, allegedly, in return for 'money' only;  their monthly salary credited to their account from govt is a monetary honor for being in government service. To black sheeps in  government service,  it is not only Sunday but all days are Sunday they are Sunday unto themselves.

With all due respect, this moron blogger would like to tell the government servants that if you are able to sit and sip tea in the comforts of your home with your family on Sunday, mind you, you owe this Sunday to millions of people who have no Sunday; you must thank them all; you must thank God also. you are blessed; you are lucky.

Sunday is not  really a holiday for all!

AMERICAN ASS

Donkeys are great lovers. At a time, a donkey remains constant to its particular mate.  No swapping. He-ass loves the she-ass wholeheartedly -one to one at a time. They often love to graze in pairs with their respective partners. Male Donkey is called Jacks and female is called Jennie or Jennet in man’s narrow world

By Mukesh Sharma

Driving through picturesque hills nearby Lake Pleasant Regional Park, a large outdoor recreational area and also the most visited place by the locals in northwest, Phoenix, Arizona(US), this blogger caught the sight of an ass walking silently with head downcast and ears picked up beside the road with no master around. The roaming stray animals is a rare sight on American roads. This blogger pulled up his car and got off to take a few pics of Mr. American Ass (the original name of donkey is ass and the scientific name is equus africanusa sinus)

Blood brothers: American and Indian Ass

While clicking the pics of sweet and cute American Ass, the picture of Indian ass also flickered across the mind. There was no discernible difference between American and Indian Ass. Both appeared blood brother. “Aaa Aaa”, this blogger shouted out of affection. But it would not heed. Suddenly this blogger realized that he was addressing an English knowing American Ass. So Hindi words would not do. Surprisingly, when this blogger yelled, “come on” the ass stopped for a while and twisted it ears bit but soon continued its onward journey towards some undisclosed destination. Even animals understand and respond in English here in US, the most coveted language, Indian students struggle a lot to learn in India.

Though in the world of man ass or donkey is used rather pejoratively, this wonderful creature which has been braying on the earth since pre-historic times, has many great qualities. Frankly speaking, if imbibed, these attributes have potential to change the life of the man.

Donkey/ass  is known for its dedication and diligence. It never shirks it duties and work. In the third world countries, donkeys engaged in carrying loads through narrow zigzag stretches or through trails up the hills, are the assets. As an honest and hard-working animals, they earn their ‘bread’ by the sweat of their brow. Very recently, Pakistan was in news for exporting donkeys to China to work on difficult and treacherous terrains. Donkeys are in abundance in Pakistan. It’s a fact that donkeys have played a key role in the progress of the man.

Donkeys are very stubborn; it never lets its stubbornness die even in  the face of death threat. In jungle, whenever other animals come across wolves or snakes, they choose to flee from the scene. However, the brave heart donkey doesn’t leave the ground. It stares the wolf down in an act of silent defence and remains ready to use its leg power to full throttle. Mahatma Gandhi must have got the superb idea of ‘passive’ violence from an ass only.

Donkeys are said to be the social animals; they enjoy the herd living.  But they are intelligent enough to maintain and assert their individuality. Even in pack, they don’t go by herd thinking. They follow their own whims and wants. Man must learn this art from donkey for the betterment of self and the country.

Like dogs, donkeys also love to live with man. They are great pet. No doubt, they are loyal and loving creature. People describe donkeys as the dogs of livestock world.

Donkeys are great lovers. At a time, a donkey remains constant to its particular mate.  No swapping. He-ass loves the she-ass wholeheartedly -one to one at a time. They often love to graze in pairs with their respective partners. Male Donkey is called Jacks and female is called Jennie or Jennet in man’s narrow world.

Yet another good quality of Donkeys is that they never complain; they are not demanding; their expectations are too low; they just live in present and enjoy to its optimum; they adapt themselves to prevailing circumstance in no time. Resigned to divine providence, they just live and work without caring about its ‘fruit’. It seems that the tenets of the Gita run through the blood of Donkeys. Donkeys are above ego and desires. Perhaps they know that these ills are the root cause of all the sufferings. So whenever, their master canes them, they don’t take it as a punishment but as an stimulus for work. Great are Donkeys.

If man embraces all the qualities of the donkey, this world would become a wonderful place to live in.

According to the Domestic Animals Diversity Information System ( DAD –IS), there are 189 breeds of Donkey on the planet. Irrespective of their domicile country, this blogger salutes all the donkey of the world.

Refilling Prescription at Pharmacy in US

Refilling Prescription at US Pharmacy

A comparative study reveals that except a few alleged ' malpractices' , Indian medical system is the cheapest in the world, very well tailored to suit the huge populace

 By Mukesh Sharma

In US, where medicines are not sold by it’s ‘brand’ name but by generic names only and further, it is not sold over-the-counter, one can’t buy the medicines duly prescribed even by a bonafide doctor other than US. Strictly controlled by FDA (Food and Drugs Administration, US) refilling a prescription at a pharmacy is not that simple, particularly, for foreign visitors.

A visitor in US can bring not more than 90 days supply of medication. If one stays longer than that or runs out of his/her essential medicines, one can’t buy the medicines directly from pharmacy in US even on the basis of prescription given by his/her doctor in one’s country. One will have to consult an American doctor who would examine his medical conditions in the light of the given prescription, and if the report is to his (doctor) satisfaction, the doctor may prescribe the substitute of the same medicine prescribed by the doctor of the patient in his/her country.

What is noteworthy, medicines are not sold by any ‘brand’ name, doctors write down only generic names and the prescription is sent directly to the pharmacy closest to the residence of the patient. Further, medicines are not given in combination - a usual practice in India, here medicines are given severally. If one is taking a medicine under some brand name in India which is a combination of two or more than two medicines, separate medicine would be given for each ingredient with attached detailed information about the medicines  -  ingredients name, common uses, before using the medicines, how to use medicines, caution, possible side effects, overdose and additional information.

Being on medication for High BP and Sugar, this blogger has also had first-hand experience in US related to refilling the prescription (in America buying medicine against a prescription is called refiling). This interesting information will give the readers some idea about the medical system prevalent in US. Look at the pics of medicines available in India under a brand name and the same given by US pharmacy under generic name followed by a leaflet of ‘prescription information’ about each medicine.

Pics of Indian medicines and US medicines

A comparative study reveals that except a few alleged ‘malpractices', Indian medical system is the cheapest in the world, very well-tailored to suit the populace of different strata, and well within the reach of the poorest of the poor. In India, the system has been ‘designed’ in such a way that for VIPs and well off it is on par with the best of the West; for middle class, it is good through cashless medical insurance; for the poor, it is free through government hospitals (khairati aspatal), of course, where treatment and recovery depend more on the luck line of the patient than the medical facilities. However, in US the system is uniform; it makes no distinction between poor and rich. Everyone has SSN (Social Security Number) and a mandatory health insurance that meets the most of medical expenses of the insured. But for the people who don’t have health insurance for any reason and are aliens (foreigners), American medical system is the most expensive in the world.

‘Gods’ of Earth

‘Gods’ of Earth

If supreme God has created this universe and its’ all the creatures, Netas have, categorically, created countries, and thus they control the destiny of all the human beings on the earth

By Mukesh Sharma

The teeming millions were spurred to vote in the name of democracy to elect their so called ‘representatives’ in the recently concluded general election in India. Further, over 8000 formally invited VIP guests witnessed the ceremonial ‘coronation’ of a few blessed elected eligibles as Hon’ble Prime Minister and ministers in the palatial precinct of Rastrapati Bhavan, well in accordance with the holy ‘rule book.’ And, as usual the poor populace which is eulogized as ‘masters’ by the netas, remained glued to TV channels and watched the grand and gala show of deification of ‘servants’ as Gods of India. Needless to say, the situation is same throughout the world, and collectively, the netas of all the countries can be called as ‘ Gods’ of the earth.

Virtual 'Gods' of the Earth

If supreme God has created this universe and its’ all the creatures, the netas have categorically created the countries, and thus they control the destiny of all the human beings. A few such Indian ‘gods’ are alleged to have bifurcated India into Pakistan and Hindustan. Dance of death and destruction can be seen in many parts of the world being ravaged by war or civil wars: Syria, Iraq, Afghanistan, Mexico, Somalia, Nigeria, Sudan, Libya, Pakistan, Egypt, Congo, Yemen and Ukraine. Of course, it is not Supreme God but these virtual gods of earth who are responsible for the sorry plight of the people across the world.

The agnostics maintain that unseen god is just a religious perception; no living man has ever seen the God; no living man has ever met the God. The belief is born when material logic ends. God is just an indispensable hope of the weak man. Since man is a creature of hope and he breathes and lives by hope, in fact the hope is personified as God.

The believers contend that God has made the sun, the earth, the moon and all the visible or invincible, known or unknown innummerable planets and stars, and of course the whole boundless universe. However, one of the most respected and renowned members of scientists fraternity and a vocal champion of the ‘Big Bang’ theory Stephen Hawking says: “I think the universe was spontaneously created out of nothing, it is not the work of any so-called God.”

Anyway, let us not get into this endless debate who created this universe. But one thing is crystal clear that these netas have drawn the geographical boundaries on the earth, and have divided this beautiful planet into countries. Today earth houses 195 countries. Obviously, these netas are the gods of their respective countries.

Once ‘defied’, these ‘gods’ visit their ‘temples’ (ministries) with all airs and graces. The ‘temple’ is decked up with flowers. The army of assistants of these ‘gods’, usually known as principal secretaries, additional secretaries, joint secretaries etc. line up at the very entrance to welcome the ‘god’ with bouquets. Such is the sanctity of these sanctum  sanctoriums that no common man can ever dare to dream to enter.

Whenever, these gods move in or out of their respective  temples, they are followed by the convoy of cars occupied by gun-totting well-touted commandos, surprisingly, for the security of the gods. A commoner can’t get even near to these gods; any misadventure shall send the intruder to jail.
These gods are truly omnipresent; wherever they go or whatever they do, can be seen on TV channels from any corner of the earth. These gods are truly omniscient; they have answers to all the question of journos or the people; they sound like oracles. These gods are truly omnipotent; they can move heaven and earth just by fluttering their eyelashes.

Evidently enough, the supposedly supreme God can only create celestial bodies or the creatures inhabiting such bodies, but these virtual gods of earth control the destiny of the creatures; they have full control over the past, present and future of the poor earthlings.

FREEDOM TO COURT AND CUCKOLD

Humour

FREEDOM TO COURT AND CUCKOLD

“Judgement is like an idea of a river without its banks”

By Mukesh Sharma

Surprisingly enough. the Oracles of Law took 158 years to understand that a woman is not a commodity or property of man,  and out of collective wisdom of the bench declared the Section 497 of IPC (Indian Penal Code)  as unconstitutional and archaic. However, the IPC which was conceived and created in 1860 by the sharpest knife of the British regime Lord Macaulay for the Indian subjects, would continue to rule the Indian judiciary.

Though ‘Right to Have Sex’ doesn’t figure in much-touted Fundamental Rights, Sir Oracles have endorsed it through their historic observations, a watershed:

Adultery can be a ground for divorce but not a criminal offence: Justice Deepak Mishra

Husband is not the Master of wife: Justice Y.D. Chandrachud

What is noteworthy, the Oracles of law in all spirit and overtone, have concurred with the great and garrulous minds ¬ poets and writers of wayward West.

An English American poet, Wystan Hugh Auden in his poem entitled To Christopher Isherwood,(1930), says:

Let us honour if we can,
The vertical man,
Though we value none,
But the horizontal one.

A promiscuous American poet Ogden Nash goes further and in his poem entitled Sweet Home give vent to his outpourings:

Home is heaven and
Orgies are vile,
But you need an orgy
Once in a while

The renowned American novelist Joseph Heller in his novel Catch 22 (1961) opines:

Prostitution gives her an opportunity to meet people. It provides fresh air and wholesome exercise, and it keeps her out of trouble.

Yet another American British Screen writer Frederic Raphael in his script to Darling,  minces no words and gets it straight:

Your idea of fidelity is not having more than one man in bed at the same time.

Hurt by Hon’ble Oracles’ rulings, some ‘narrow’ minded men arrogantly argue that complete ‘autonomy’ to a woman may ‘upset the Apple Cart,’ as an autonomy to J&K may lead to secession of the state from India. “The Oracles rulings have hurt the male pride” says a male-chauvinist vehemently. “Be it a minister or minion, a woman has to lie down beneath the man.”

Some skeptical men from ‘lower strata’ contend that so-called historical judgement may trigger off ‘sex war’ in the society, and dismantle and demolish the age old ‘sacred’ institution of marriage in India as in Western world. “The judgement is like an idea of a river without its banks” says an old timer grudgingly. “The English did understand the complexities but the ‘black’ English failed.”

However, all the mighty and moneyed, men who are and now wish to become ‘Sugar Daddy’, welcome the judicious ‘move’ with three cheers. They maintain that sex is the most sought after natural fun that a man has without laughing. The freedom to fair sex to court and cuckold would take ‘love’ to a new height even unknown to Epicurus.
